Black Menu Bar has one switch, never touches your wallpaper and works on macOS 27. Here is how to install, use and quit it.

Install

Get Black Menu Bar on the Mac App Store and open it from the Applications folder. It requires macOS 26 or later, including macOS 27.

As soon as the app opens, the menu bar turns black and the app's icon (a rectangle with a filled top bar) appears on the right side of the menu bar.

Use

Click the icon to open the menu. Black Menu Bar switches the black menu bar on and off; a checkmark means it is on. The app remembers your choice the next time it opens.

System Settings, accessibility options and your wallpaper stay as they are.

Quit and uninstall

Choose Quit in the app's menu, and the menu bar is back to normal right away.

To uninstall, quit the app, then drag Black Menu Bar from the Applications folder to the Trash.
